Chapter I

How I earned money on X in 90 days while spending 10 minutes on it daily

By Louise Ivan · Co-founder & CXO @ Ryder

X growth experiment cover

You guys might know me as the CEO, Co-founder at Ryder, building the best hardware wallet out there to keep your crypto safe with banger outfits and a team you can fit in a mini van. But before that I was actually the Growth Lead at Stacks. I left when it was at peak at $3 ;). Getting my hands dirty and figuring things out is second nature to me.

P.S. No AI was used to write this banger guide.

My 2026 goal is to be good at social media like your boi Spencer Pratt

For 2026, I promised to be good at god damn social media, hence I learned X and Instagram (@louise.ivan). This doc has one goal, and that's to show you how I started getting money from X and became one of the cool kids on the platform who can post every 2 weeks. Thanks for the moolah, papa Elon!

The origin story of my dead X account

I'll break this down into the parts I actually learned from over my 90-day experiment. Every experiment has its own origin story, and mine starts with an account that was barely getting any impressions because I wasn't really posting. Just like you, I was struggling to see how people get to millions of impressions.

X analytics before the experiment, barely any impressions

November 4 is when I started to post every day

What I learned about organic media is it's all about testing. Don't get obsessed with likes and comments, feel free to go out of your comfort zone. You can't be in the middle, that doesn't work in the attention economy. Either you're fully in or you give tons of value. Content should capture attention in less than 3 seconds, and that's a recurring pattern across every platform. So I posted every single day just to get data I could work with.

Somehow I landed my first viral post on November 5, dopamine hit like molly

First viral post analytics

I didn't overthink it. I grabbed a Ryder b-roll from our drive and let the post do all the heavy lifting. FYI, I tried the same thing on Insta and it didn't work, but that's a different breakdown for another day.

The viral post itself

I wanted to branch out of crypto X because the grass is always greener on the other side

My account performs really well in the crypto space, multiple posts going ballistic to 50K–100K views, some even picked up by TLDR. But I wanted this account to be more me and the things I actually like, so even though it hurt to watch engagement dip, there's so much more out there than crypto X. Our mission at Ryder is financial freedom for everyone, so I had to branch out. I picked the verticals I like most: fitness, lifestyle, fashion, and memes. That changed my algorithm completely.

Going more lifestyle on the For You page
me going more lifestyle
Going into fitness content on the For You page
me going into fitness

The three elements every piece of content needs for virality

Hook, retention, and a reason to engage. Skip any one of the three and the post dies quietly no matter how good the topic is.

The arbitrage to 5M views if you have a small "micro cute" account like mine

Here's the actual gameplay: pick a niche, get a banger reply in on someone else's post, and rage bait on your own post. Replies from a small account can outperform your main feed for months if you're consistent about it. I've seen accounts like @DylanCalluy and @jesse_vermeulen grow fast for exactly this reason, they niched down hard.

I found this data on Typefully, which I use to schedule all my posts. Replying to big accounts can actually get you way more impressions.

Now here's my gameplay: pick a niche, get a banger reply, and rage bait on your actual post

Since I rebuilt my For You page around fitness, lifestyle, memes, and fashion instead of crypto, getting impressions on replies got easy. I combine that with occasional rage bait on my own account, replying to posts on my For You page while I drink my soy milk cappuccino. Somehow I have a talent for replying to things right before they go viral, so my responses rake in views too.

Do not complicate it, please

A simple "why" reply from me gets more views than most of my scripted posts.

A simple reply getting a large number of views

Here's the result of my reply impressions from Typefully, you can see how it easily compounds to 5M views.

Now I also do occasional rage bait from my account to help with the impressions

These posts are shocking, have hot takes, and can spark a full-on war on X. jk, but ifykyk.

Just like that I hit 5M views and monetized my X account

Once the impressions were there, I set up ad revenue sharing on X and turned the attention into actual money.

I love that Typefully is clean and doesn't have too many features, simple enough for a 30-year-old like me. It resurfaces my posts every 24 hours and 7 days, less complicated than SuperX. I even download my data from Typefully, feed it into Claude, and use it to write content in my exact voice.

What I wanna do moving forward

My goal over the next few months is to build a brand here so all of you know who I am and what I do. Virality is one thing, branding is another. I'll go over ads, funnels, emails, and every kind of growth you can think of, from fitness to lifestyle to fashion. I don't have a niche because I am the niche.

I'll also show you how our team at Ryder, small enough to fit in a mini van, competes with billion-dollar competitors through AI automation.

P.S. I also hit 9.3M views on Instagram in 30 days. That breakdown is coming in Chapter II. Follow along on X, Instagram, or LinkedIn.
